Walgreens 101

Walgreens offers Register Rewards (RRs) on select items every week. These are money off coupons that print on the end of your receipt which can be used to get money off your next purchase. Often they are for the same amount as the product you are purchaseing.

Today I bought a box of Childrens Oscillococcinum that was on sale for $8.99 and was given a $9 RR when I checked out. I did a second transaction and used the Register reward for other items I needed today but I could have saved it to use next week. (Be sure to check the expiration date on the RR).

Now you can make these Register Reward deals a little better if you also have a coupon for the item. I had a $2 off coupon for the Oscillococcinum so I actually paid $6.99 plus tax and received a $9 RR thereby making $2 on the transaction. Sometimes it's worth buying something you don't really need (but could donate) so that you can make a couple of dollars to use on something you do need.

* Register Rewards do not roll. That means that if I had used it to buy another box of the
Oscillococcinum I would not have received a second Register Reward. However if I used it to buy a
different item that was offering an RR I would receive that.

* The number of coupons and Register Rewards that you use in any trnasaction must not exceed the
number of items you are buying.
